Things to do

Head “out for the day” to explore the area’s historical diggings, heritage listed Maldon, Ballarat, Bendigo, Daylesford, the Grampians or the Pyrenees. Or maybe not…just wander around our own heritage town, see the wildflowers in nearby Paddys Ranges Sate Park or pop in to historical Maryborough (which can supply all you need). If even that sounds too energetic then sit around under the big verandahs of the cottage, joining in with the mini donkeys, chooks and sheep as you watch the world go by, the lorikeets feed off the flowering gums and the ducks swim around on the dam. Whatever you choose, you’ll have a wonderful break at Worilla Cottage. After all, Worilla means “to sit, to rest”!

Maldon

Maldon is just 40 minutes away and is a pleasant half day run - take a picnic lunch or dine out in one of the many cafes whilst vising Victoria's first Notable Town.

Ballarat

Visit Soverign Hill, Eureka Stockade, Mt Bunninyong and Lake Wendouree.  Just 40 minutes away, it can easily be a half day or full day trip.

Avoca & the Pyrenees

Whether you're into wineries, cafes, bushwalking or four wheel driving, there's plenty to occupy you in the Pyrenees Ranges and they're just 20-30 minutes away.

Daylesford

There's so much to do and see here - from the cafes to the parks to the mineral water springs - that you can easily lose an entire day without noticing.

Bendigo

See the Talking Tram, Central Deborah Goldmine, Lake Weeroona and the Chinese Museum. It's about an hour away so it's best to plan to be gone for the full day.

The Grampians

Halls Gap is just 90 minutes away and your jumping off point for iconic sites like The Pinnacles, Mackenzies Falls and Zumpsteins. Allow a full day to make best use of your time.
